Dear Timer,
The summer vacation period has begun and we can imagine you have some questions about our vacation policy during the corona pandemic. In this email, you can find more information about our policy.
Pay attention to the colour designation of the country you are visiting
Despite the fact that the number of new infections is dropping and more and more people are getting vaccinated, the guidelines issued by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) still apply to everyone. This means that changes to countries’ COVID-19 colour designations may have a positive or negative impact on our vacations and our work.
You can check a country's current colour designation via www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl. Scroll down on the website to access the information in a different language.
Quarantine or not per country colour designation
Timing does not offer compensation for days spent in quarantine (an exception is made for labour migrants), so it is important to pay attention to the colour designation of the country you are visiting and what situation applies to you:
When you visit a country with colour designation Red:
- You are required to go into quarantine for a maximum of ten days. You can take a (quick) test on the fifth day; if the test result is negative, you may end your quarantine. You can get tested for free at one of Timing's quick-test sites. In most cases, you will get your test result that same day and - if the test was negative - you can go back to work the next day. You can also visit a test site operated by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). You will usually get your test result the next day.
- We do not offer compensation for the days you spend in quarantine and they will therefore have to come out of your reservations.
When you visit a country with colour designation Orange:
- You are strongly advised to go into quarantine for a maximum of ten days.
When you visit a country with colour designation Yellow:
- You are not required to go into quarantine.
If a country's colour designation changes during your stay:
- If a country's colour designation changes from Green/Yellow to Orange or Red during your stay abroad, we will confer with you to decide what we can do with these lost hours in the schedule or in compensation.
If you are coming out of an orange/red country as a labour migrant:
- If you are coming to the Netherlands to work and your home country has been given the colour designation Orange or Red, you must go into quarantine for a maximum of ten days.
- Upon arrival and on the fifth day after your arrival, you must take a free (quick) test to guarantee the safety in our accommodations and, if your test result is negative, end your quarantine after five days.
- Your accommodation will be free for the duration of your quarantine.
- You will also receive a sum of €10.51 per day (the daily costs of living for an adult in the Netherlands plus health insurance costs, based on figures from Nibud).
Thank you for your hard work!
We know that our clients’ schedules are full and that it is always difficult to get your request for vacation approved during one of the busiest times of the year. Nevertheless, we hope you can find a solution and we want to thank you for your hard work and any extra hours you may be working.
On the other hand, if you are not working as many hours as you would like, please inform your contact at Timing so we can look for ways to make optimal use of your availability.
Let's make it a great summer together!
Kind regards
The Timing team
