Paul Haarhuis succeeds Margriet Spijker as the new CEO of Timing
In recent decades, Timing, a specialist in operational work, has grown into a top 3 player in the Dutch temporary employment market, with over 25,000 temporary workers and 900 employees. This remarkable achievement was reached by the management under the leadership of CEO Margriet Spijker, who is retiring today. Her successor is commercial director Paul Haarhuis, who will further develop the innovation and growth strategy.
Familiar face with a fresh perspective
Paul Haarhuis has been a familiar face within Timing for 26 years. As CCO, he has been jointly responsible for the strategic direction and strong growth of the company in recent years. He knows the organization inside out and understands what is happening in the temporary employment sector. “The challenges in the labor market are significant. New laws and regulations, the revised temporary employment collective agreement, and a persistently tight labor market are causing fundamental changes. This requires a sharp proposition and innovative solutions. Solutions in which personal contact remains central, but digitalization and process innovation are indispensable to keep our services accessible and affordable.”
"Margriet has established a solid company with a strong foundation, ready to grow further. Together, we have worked intensively for years on the direction and daily management of Timing."
Great appreciation for Margriet Spijker
Under the leadership of Margriet Spijker, the family business Timing grew into a top 3 player in the Dutch temporary employment market. Her leadership was characterized by entrepreneurship, innovation, a focus on quality, and involvement with temporary workers. Paul: “Margriet has established a solid company with a strong foundation, ready to grow further. Together, we have worked intensively for years on the course and daily management of Timing. Connecting with each other, practical solutions, but also having a lot of fun together, is the typical Timing DNA, which is a very pleasant basis. I look forward to building on that and entering the next phase of development.”
Innovation necessary for growth
To be able to grow, innovation is more necessary than ever. This is reflected in the composition of the renewed Timing management with the position of Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) taken on by Jeroen Kok. “Both within our company and on the client side, AI and pragmatic innovation will rapidly prepare everyone for the future. Everyone can and will work smarter and more efficiently. Jeroen's experience as our operational director means that he knows better than anyone where technology and innovation can make a difference in operational processes.”
As of September 1, 2025, the management consists of CEO Paul Haarhuis, CFO Jurrie Jan Bruins, and CIO Jeroen Kok.
