New collective labor agreement for temporary workers starting January 1, 2026
As of January 1, 2026, the new collective labor agreement for temporary workers 2026 will come into effect.
ABU, NBBU, and the union LBV have reached a negotiator's agreement on this. This collective labor agreement was established based on the SER-MLT advice from 2021 and aligns with the expected introduction of the Law on more security for temporary workers. The new collective labor agreement contains significant changes, aiming for stronger employment conditions and more security for temporary workers.
The new collective labor agreement brings several important changes. For instance, temporary workers will be equated with permanent employees in terms of remuneration, the structure of the phase system will change, and pensions will henceforth be considered in the equivalence test.
