Work for everyone
Working together towards an inclusive labor market
Everyone has the right to work that suits them. No matter where you come from, who you love, or what you believe in. Because: work is important. Of course, because of the money, but also because work provides a daily routine, helps you develop skills, and provides social interaction.
A job is not equally self-evident for everyone. For some, finding a suitable job is quite a challenge. This can be due to a prior education that does not match, a physical disability, or a language barrier. We believe it is important that everyone gets the chance to participate. Target groups we focus on include:
- Temporary workers with a benefits background such as WWB, WIA, or Wajong
- Status holders (refugees with a residence document)
- Youth from practical education
- Older people (>56 years)
EMPower Participation
At Timing, the EMPower Participation team works daily to help these target groups find work. This is managed centrally from our headquarters. EMPower Participation implements Timing's policy on social entrepreneurship nationwide.
Two officers are responsible for ensuring a 30% SROI share in our working temporary workers' base each year. They do this by focusing on knowledge transfer to decentralized job coaches and actively building partnerships.
"We find it important that everyone can participate"
Knowledge transfer to decentralized job coaches
To increase the reach and impact of social activities at the regional level, we train intermediaries to become internal job coaches. They have now become an important extension of the EMPower department.
The job coaches have local knowledge of the labor market and maintain frequent contact with municipalities, UWV, refugee organizations, and educators. This enables them to create opportunities for the target group effectively. The job coaches provide intensive guidance to the candidates, with attention to each individual. Everyone has their own challenges and (im)possibilities. With the support provided by the job coaches, they work on opportunities for the future. Sustainable employability is always the goal.
Actively building partnerships
EMPower is affiliated with various overarching initiatives and thus builds a large network that offers concrete opportunities to help the target group find work. An example is the Servicepunt Flex, which connects the temporary employment sector and the UWV. An initiative of ABU, NBBU, Doorzaam, and the UWV.
We are also a partner in the Normaalste Zaak, a growing network of 600 SME entrepreneurs and large employers who are working together to build an inclusive labor market.
Thanks to these partnerships, we are able to quickly and easily start collaborations throughout the Netherlands that benefit our target group.
