Cookieverklaring
Cookie statement
This cookie statement, together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, provides you with information about cookies and other similar technology used by the Timing online platform. We review this policy from time to time to ensure that it remains up to date. If we make changes, we will post the latest version here. This cookie statement applies to the Timing online platform, which includes Timing.nl and the Timing app on iOS and Android.
Cookies and similar technology
We use cookies and similar technology when you use our services. These are either managed directly by us or by third parties acting on our behalf. We use cookies and similar technology when they are essential to provide our services, to improve your experience through analytics and optimization, and to deliver personalized advertising. Below you will find more information about how you can manage these cookies and similar technology.
What are cookies and similar technology?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device through your web browser, at the request of the websites you visit or apps you use, that stores information on your device for a limited period of time. Some cookies are necessary, but not all. For example, cookies ensure that your settings and preferences are remembered, such as the preference to store said cookies or not. Thanks to cookies, we can also analyse your online behaviour on our website and app. We use these analyses to improve our online platform. There are also cookies that make the website more personal, so that the content and information offered on our online platform is tailored to your preferences.
Some of the cookies we use are deleted once you leave our website or app, as we don't need to keep this information until your next visit. These are called 'session' cookies. On the other hand, 'persistent' cookies enable our services or tags to recognize you when you visit us again. They automatically expire when they reach a certain expiration date unless you manually delete them. Persistent cookies placed on your device by Timing are never kept for more than 24 months om the date of your last visit. Tools are available to check the expiration date of cookies. This functionality may be provided by your browser.
We also use similar technologies, such as "tags", "tracking pixels", "code snippets", "tracking URLs", "local storage", and "scripts" in our website as well as "software development kits (SDKs)" and "device ids' in our apps. These technologies are implemented in our services and may be used in conjunction with text cookies to store or transmit information to and from the device you use to access Timing. In this policy, all of these app and web technology is collectively referred to as "Cookies and Similar Technology".
Who controls these cookies and similar technology?
The cookies and similar technology in our services are either managed directly by us or by third parties acting on our behalf. There are also some cookies and similar technology that we have implemented for advertising purposes and that are controlled by independent third parties. You can find more information about these third parties and how to opt out of their cookies and similar technology in the section 'What cookies and similar technology do we use and how can you opt out?'
We may add, delete, or update cookies and similar technologies that we use on our services from time to time. You can view the main cookies and similar technologies we use as of the date of this policy under 'cookie list'.
Personal data
Your personal data is processed when placing and reading cookies. See our Privacy policy for a comprehensive overview of how we handle your personal data.
Consent categories
Timing places cookies and similar technology for four different data processing activities. You can determine yourself which cookies are placed. With the cookie manager you can adjust the cookie settings per cookie type on the timing website or app at any time.
There are 4 settings:
1. Strictly necessary & functional cookies;
2. Analytical cookies;
3. Profile cookies;
4. Marketing/Social media cookies;
1. Strictly necessary/Functional cookies
Timing online platform uses strictly necessary and functional cookies to ensure that the website and app work properly and is able to offer you the online services as intended. For example, these cookies are used to save your consent preferences, detect any security or fraud incidents, and enable you to login. Due to the functional nature and non-personal information stored collected of these cookies, they may be placed without consent. View our cookie list to see which cookies are placed.
2. Analytical cookies
Timing online platform uses analytical cookies to measure website usage and improve our online experience in a non-personal manner. By means of analytical cookies we analyse how you use our online platform and what we can change to improve your experience. The analytics data collected provides insight into the use of the Timing online platform. For instance, it measures which pages are viewed and what elements are clicked that are not directly linked to an end user. We use Google and Hotjar analytics solutions to analyse this data. These tools we have set up in a privacy-friendly way. For these tools the data collected is aggregated statistics and limited in its capabilities to trace back and identify you as an individual. Such data points include technical characteristics, such as the browser you use (Chrome, Internet Explorer or Firefox), which device you use (Mobile, Desktop or Tablet), when the website is visited, which pages are visited and whether functionalities on the Timing online platform have been used i.e. the application flow and filtering.
3. Profile cookies
Timing also uses profile cookies to make the Timing online platform match your personal preferences. We use your accumulated interest and profile based on your surfing behaviour on Timing online platform, to show you relevant vacancies and/or profiles and tips on the Timing online platform. These cookies are also used to additionally optimize and improve your online experience with us. To do this effectively we require your personal data, such as userID, IP addresses, cookieID etc. to remember your preferences and interests with these cookies. This way we tailor content specifically to your interests and needs. Based on your surfing behaviour, we can, for example, personalise your experience and show you job vacancies that we think might suit you better and previously have shown interest in.
4. Marketing/Social media cookies
Timing uses marketing and social media cookies to improve, personalize and analyse our marketing and social media activities. With the help of these cookies, Timing can offer relevant advertisements at Timing online platform, on third-party websites and on social media. View our cookie list to see which cookies are placed under these settings.
We place advertisements on websites outside Timing online platform to ensure that these advertisements match your interests as closely as possible, they are based on your online surfing and search behaviour. We collect data from your visit to get an idea of possible interests. We can also use these cookies to keep track of which advertisements you have already seen, so that you do not always see the same banners, for example.
This cookie allows us to:
1. Analyse which advertisements you have already seen. This prevents you from seeing the same advertisements too often.
2. Analysing how many visitors click on our advertisements.
3. Analysing how many visitors take an action on our website after clicking on an advertisement. This is necessary to measure the effectiveness of advertisements.
4. To keep track of whether you have already selected certain services from us. This is to limit any unnecessary advertisements.
Social media cookies
Social media cookies are placed by the social media websites themselves. The moment you click on a 'share button' or social media button on Timing.nl, a social media cookie is placed.
For example, the social media party can recognize your IP address when you want to share a blog or article from Timing.nl. For the cookies that the social media parties place and the data they collect with them, we refer to the statements that these parties provide on their own websites. We recommend that you regularly consult the privacy and cookie statements below:
1. Facebook
2. Instagram
3. LinkedIn
Other cookies/ embedded content
You can watch embedded videos, such as YouTube, on the timing website and app that often introduces the work employer or tips on your job application process. These video elements are shown on the website, however we don’t have insights to these third-party cookies.
Cookie list
Please find linked the full list of cookies used by Timing here.
How can I withdraw or change my previous consent to the use of cookies?
You can change and withdraw your previous chosen consent at any time. Your new consent preference will then directly be applied to your user profile. The easiest way to do this, is to use the “Change permission” button below: ADD BUTTON
How do I delete cookies?
Another way to opt out of cookies and similar technologies is through the settings of the browser or device you use to access our services. Internet browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge have settings that allow you to control how your information is collected and shared. These browsers usually allow you to view all cookies that are stored on your device, clear your cache of cookies, and adjust your preferences for future collection. If you do not give permission, cookies that have already been stored on your device on the basis of your previous permission will not be automatically deleted.
The downside of using browser or device settings to withdraw your consent is that it disables many of the cookies and similar technologies that are essential for the proper functioning of our services. As a result, some or all of the features and functionality we offer may no longer work. Therefore, we recommend taking a more targeted approach to withdrawing your consent. For example, if you no longer want cookies and similar technologies to be used to serve your interest-based advertising, you do not need to block all cookies, but you can also opt out through the cookie consent settings in Timing, as mentioned above.
Below you will find the link to the instructions per browser to delete cookies:
Google Chrome
Internet Explorer
Microsoft Edge
Firefox
Safari (iOS)
Safari (macOS)
