What does a delivery person do?
As a delivery person, you are the one who picks up and delivers ordered packages. You do this with the help of a (electric) bike, scooter, car, or van. Your workday often starts with picking up the goods at a large sorting or distribution center. Or in the case of food: at the restaurant.
You work based on a list that states what you need to transport that day. It is your task to check if you have everything before you set off. Once on the road, you drive the fastest route to all the addresses on your list.
When you arrive at an address, you take the correct package and hand it over. Note that the recipient sometimes needs to sign for receipt. A bit of administration is therefore also part of your tasks.
At the end of your round, you bring the packages you couldn't deliver to a pickup point or back to the distribution center.
As a delivery person, you are often easily recognizable on the street because your work clothing and vehicle are provided with the logo and colors of the company you deliver for. Besides being on time, it is also important that you behave professionally. As a delivery person, you are the business card of the company.
