Forklift Driver / Logistics Employee

As a warehouse employee at GLS in 's-Hertogenbosch, you work in a large warehouse. You unload packages from trucks, place them on the conveyor belt, and scan them. You work in the afternoon or night shift. The working hours are from 16:00 to 00:00 and from 00:30 to 08:00. In most cases, you start with the afternoon shift. You can work both full-time and part-time. On an average day, you lift packages up to 23 kilos. You ensure everything is in the right place and report discrepancies. Are you ready for a challenging role in logistics? As a Logistics Team Leader, you are responsible for efficiently collecting orders, loading and unloading, and overseeing the warehouse and premises. You have the opportunity to grow into a coordinating role, where you supervise colleagues, check prepared orders, and contribute ideas for improvements in logistics processes. You ensure the quick and accurate picking of orders, organizing the warehouse and surrounding area. The role also offers growth opportunities to a coordinating position, including leading team members, checking orders, and optimizing work processes. In addition to efficiently processing orders and handling loading and unloading, you are responsible for order in the warehouse and premises. Moreover, you can advance to a coordinating role where you supervise colleagues, check prepared shipments, and contribute to improvements in logistics. In this role, you are not only active with order picking, loading and unloading, and managing the warehouse area, but you also have a view of a coordinating task. This includes guiding employees, reviewing prepared orders, and suggesting improvements for logistics processes. You perform efficient order picking, loading and unloading, and keep the warehouse and premises organized. Additionally, the position offers room for development into a coordinating role: leading colleagues, checking prepared orders, and thinking about process improvements. The other tasks are: • Collecting orders with a forklift; • Adjusting stones and tiles to size for the customer, manually or with tools for heavy parts; • Receiving and assisting customers and suppliers with loading and unloading trucks; • Keeping the warehouse and storage neat and organized; • (Growth opportunity) Leading the logistics team; • (Growth opportunity) Checking if daily orders are correctly prepared; • (Growth opportunity) Thinking about improvements in logistics processes and the layout of warehouses and storage areas.

In this role, you work 40 hours a week and ensure that customers, from freelancers to contractors, can quickly and easily take their building materials. You collect orders with the forklift, prepare them, and assist with unloading new deliveries. Additionally, you keep the warehouse neat and organized. You start your day by checking the incoming goods. Then you prepare orders for customers and help them with loading. You have a chat or answer questions for extra service. Together with your colleagues, you ensure a smooth day. On Saturdays, you work from 08:00 to 13:00 and on weekdays from 07:00 to 17:00.
