What does a forklift driver do?
The word says it all, as a forklift driver you operate the forklift, also known as a fork truck or fork lift. A small transport vehicle for lifting, moving, and stacking goods that are on a pallet. Forklifts are used in many workplaces: warehouses, industrial areas, terminals, ports, sheds, and factories. The workplace of a forklift driver can therefore be very diverse.
Your tasks roughly boil down to the internal transport of goods. With the forklift, you move goods on pallets from A to B over a short distance. You may also be given other tasks, such as helping with loading, unloading, and packaging goods. This varies per employer and depends on your experience.

How do you become a forklift driver?
To become a forklift driver, you must be able to prove that you are competent to operate a forklift safely and properly. Many employers therefore require a forklift certificate as proof. What does a forklift driver earn on average?
As a forklift driver, you earn an average of between 1700 and 2300 euros gross per month if you work full-time. Of course, your salary depends on factors such as your experience, the industry, and your specific tasks.
What is the career perspective of a forklift driver?
Many companies are looking for forklift drivers, so job opportunities are good. Advancement is also possible, for example by obtaining more certificates, performing more complex tasks, and/or supervising others.
