Transport Planner
As a Transport Planner, you are responsible for efficiently organizing and coordinating transports from the distribution center in Zoetermeer. You ensure that orders are scheduled on time, routes are optimally arranged, and drivers are well-prepared to hit the road. Throughout the day, you maintain contact with drivers and carriers and monitor the progress of the transports. You work with various systems and have a good sense of route planning. You can quickly make connections, easily adapt when the schedule changes, and maintain an overview, even during busy moments.
Your tasks include, among others, creating and optimizing the daily distribution schedule, planning routes, equipment, and transport capacity, and monitoring the progress of operational transports. Additionally, you maintain contact with and guide drivers and carriers, process and check packing slips and transport documentation, verify purchase invoices, and prepare reports and KPIs for management. You primarily work with PTV Route Optimiser for transport planning and with MendriX for track & trace and monitoring the trucks. Orders are prepared by Customer Service, after which you convert them into an efficient schedule for the next transport day.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, where you work from the distribution center in Zoetermeer. The planning mainly focuses on transports within the Netherlands.
