Where will you be working?
The MAA employs over 38 pilots and operates with 8 helicopters. It flies for four trauma centers, the Regional Ambulance Service Friesland, for (semi)governments, and for event organizations; seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Its more than 50 employees are well-trained, committed, and inspired.
For four trauma centers, ANWB Medical Air Assistance provides helicopter transport of the Mobile Medical Team (MMT). An MMT consists of a doctor, a nurse, and the pilot. These four trauma centers are designated by the government to transport an MMT by helicopter. The helicopter used by the MMT is usually called a trauma helicopter or Lifeliner.
For the Wadden Islands, ANWB Medical Air Assistance provides helicopter transport of patients on behalf of and in cooperation with the Regional Ambulance Service Friesland. This helicopter is called an ambulance helicopter or Medic01.
The ANWB MAA is an independent subsidiary of the Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB and operates six Airbus EC135 helicopters used as trauma helicopters. Additionally, the company operates two ambulance helicopters of the Airbus EC145 type. With these eight helicopters, ANWB MAA covers the whole of the Netherlands.
