"I love variety. No day is the same."

One day Patrick is on the work floor, the next day at a festival with a food truck. In between, he makes time for his children and his girlfriend. It is precisely that variety that is important to him.

Patrick is 43 years old and works via Timing as a production worker at Jong en Poering Conveus. But sitting still is not for him. His life consists of switching, combining, and especially doing what gives him energy.

As he himself says: “I really love variety. That's why besides my work, I also have the food truck where I work, my hobbies, and my children. Actually, no day is the same.”

Time for what really matters

Outside of work, Patrick mainly tries to make time for what is important to him. His children always come first in that.

“I try to spend as much time as possible with my children,” he says. “And besides that, I also work at a food truck.” That variety is exactly what gives him energy.

The people make the difference

By now, he is indispensable at the festivals and events where he stands with the food truck. “The cool thing about being on the road with the food truck is that you come to really awesome places, like the Zwarte Cross, Ahoy, at people's homes. The craziest places.”

But for him, it's not just about the places. It's the people that make it special. “I have made a lot of new friends and memories for life.”

Time for what really counts

That flexibility sometimes lies in seemingly small things, but makes a world of difference for him. Hans explains: “The advantage for me as a temporary worker is that I generally start very early. That also means that I finish on time and can still go exercise in daylight.”

Work that adapts

Precisely because his life is so versatile, Patrick needs work that adapts to it. And he finds that in temporary work.

“I can combine my temporary work with the food truck because the food truck is mainly on weekends. And when it falls differently, I just take an extra day off.” That flexibility allows him to combine work and private life in a way that works for him.

Quickly get started

When Patrick was looking for work, he immediately noticed how fast it can go via Timing.

“I responded to a vacancy on the Timing website in the morning. I was called back very quickly. A few hours later, I had an interview and two days later I was working.”

For him, that was exactly what he needed. “Temporary work makes it attractive for me that I got a job very quickly. I was between two jobs and this was a great solution.”

A life with variety

What temporary work ultimately brings Patrick goes beyond just work. It gives him the space to organize his life himself. The combination of work, children, festivals with the food truck, and freedom allows him to fill his days in a way that suits him.

For Patrick, it doesn't have to be complicated. He just wants to work, earn his money, and do what he enjoys. And he succeeds with temporary work.
