We would like to use this mailing to inform you about a number of topics that could be of importance to you as Timing flex worker.
The coronavirus has affected us all and has had a major impact on our society. Government measures aimed at combating the coronavirus appear to be working. As a result, some measures can slowly be relaxed. Although this is good news, we can imagine that you have many questions in these uncertain times. What impact will this crisis have on your job? You may have to work fewer hours than normal, and may be asking yourself if you will still have a job? But you will also want to know how your salary will be affected? These are the types of questions with which we want to help and support you as much as possible. Your Timing contact person will be able to answer your questions in person.
Temporary Bridging arrangement for Flex Workers (TOFA)
As of 22 June, employees who have a flexible contract, and have suffered a loss of income, can contact the UWV to apply for the Temporary Bridging arrangement for Flex Workers (TOFA). We want to use this mailing to offer you transparency about your position as an employee with an on-call agreement, and give you the opportunity to take advantage of the TOFA allowance.
What does this mean for you?
The TOFA is intended for employees with a flexible contract, like an on-call agreement, who - due to the coronavirus crisis - have (almost) no income and are not entitled to benefits. The TOFA involves a one-off allowance of €550 per month for the months of March, April and May 2020.
You must meet the following conditions in order to qualify for the TOFA:
- You were at least 18 years old on 1 April 2020 and have not yet reached retirement (AOW) age.
- Your salary in February 2020 was at least €400.
- Your salary in March 2020 was at least €1.
- Your salary in April 2020 was at least €550.
- Your salary in April 2020 was at least 50% lower than your pre-tax salary for February 2020.
- You did not receive benefits or other income compensation for April 2020.
- Due to a loss of income during the coronavirus outbreak, you need the TOFA allowance to cover your costs of living.
The website of the UWV contains further information about conditions that you must meet in order to qualify for the TOFA allowance, how you can apply for the TOFA and other frequently asked questions that may be of importance to you. Keep a close eye on the UWV website for the very latest information.

Travelling in safety
It is almost time for the summer holidays. Naturally, we want you to enjoy your holiday as much as possible. Have you made plans to travel abroad? Then please prepare well and be extra careful. Below we have explained the potential risks and consequences for your work via Timing.
What does this mean for you?
Each country has been assigned a colour code, which indicates how safe it is to travel to the concerned country. This website shows you the colour codes for countries within the EU. As of 15 June, the government has permitted travel to countries that have been issued green and yellow travel advice. The safest option is to spend your holiday in countries with a green travel code. Travelling to countries outside Europe is strongly discouraged.
Not back on time or in quarantine?
You will be personally responsible for your decision to go on holiday. If you are unexpectedly unable to return from the concerned country (within or outside Europe), or must go into quarantine upon return, you will be obligated to use your (paid or unpaid) leave days. That is why you should check the travel advice shortly before departure.
Further information about travelling abroad (within or outside Europe) can be found athttps://www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl/.
